What is Gum Acacia ?

Gum Acacia (also known as Acacia Gum, E414 or Gum Arabic) is a natural gum exuded from the sap of acacia trees i.e. Acacia Senegal and Acacia Seyal. The outstanding functional properties of gum acacia have made it a reliable ingredient widely used not only in the food industry, but also in the cosmetic, pharmaceutical and technical industries.

The major producing and exporting countries in the ‘gum arabic belt’ includes the Sahel countries like Chad, Sudan, Nigeria or Senegal.
